Mias's heart slammed in his chest, threatening to explode as he sprinted to her fallen body. The boy and other people had begun to surround her, whispering fiercely. Some trying to touch her, one person even flipped her onto her back, the blood falling down her shoulder and onto the ground like a waterfall. Rage overtook him. Drawing his sword he always kept sheathed at his hip as he came to the back of the crowd. "GET AWAY FROM HER!!" he bellowed, His anger being voiced in a booming demand. People turned in fear as they saw the old Mias return, the Mias that was tucked away when he was with Elle. Now she had fallen and he wanted her back. They scrambled to head his command. And when a small amount of people remained he grabbed one of them by the collar from behind and pressed the sword to the man's throat. "LEAVE HER BE OR I'LL BEHEAD HIM!!" apparently Mias had picked the right man to take. One of the women shouted and screamed at the others to back off, when they had she fell to her knees in font of Mias and the man. "Please lord Mias." She sobbed. "Let my husband go and we will leave, please have mercy." He growled at her. "Fine."He pushed the trembling man away, and collapsed to his knees beside Elle. Her face was so pale. So pale.
Ripping his cape off he attempted to sop up the blood but when his cape became quickly soaked he ripped off a long strip that wasn't dripping wet and tied it tightly around the wound. Scooping her up into his arms, Mias ran to the horses. People stopping to stare and move out of his way, but not because of the blood, no, many had seen Mias come into town drenched in blood from previous battles and were well accustomed to it. No, they were staring because he was crying. Tears streamed down his face as it took on a look of panic and despair.
Coming to a stop at Yousery and Grace Mias settled an unconscious Elle on Yousery and turned to Grace, grabbing her by the muzzle and turning her head so his eyes met hers. His eyes began to glow green as he bore into her mind, speaking with urgency. "Follow us, or you will be left to fend for yourself." He pushed out of her mind and climbed onto Yousery, who already knew his orders. Holding Elle tight against him he swore he'd be back to face the baker henry, No matter what Elle would say, or how much she would plead for him to show understanding, he would take revenge upon that man if it was the last thing he did. "Hurry Yousery, to Arian!" The horse took off, heading to the healer's house in the forest.
"Godspeed, Yousery. Godspeed." Mias said both aloud and into the horse's ear. Clutching Elle, he cried silently as they rode, Grace's hooves thundering in their trail. He wondered how only a month ago he would never even have guessed that he would care for someone at all let alone as much as he did Elle. Silently he prayed, to whatever god was listening. "Let her stay mine and I will take her to see Thomas at his home whenever she likes, I'll take her to the meadows at dawn if she so wishes it. I swear it. Just give me the chance to have her as my own. Please" he gripped the reigns tighter and urged Yousery faster, the velvet box still sat snuggly in his pocket, begging to be opened, the question begging to be answered.

Elle and Mias: Chapter 6
Elle awoke just before dawn. She had rolled onto her stomach in the night and had her limbs sprawled every which way on the bed. With Mias provided more than adequate warmth, the covers were pushed to the edge of the bed. Yet Elle now felt strangely cold. She tilted her head up and noticed her smock was on the floor with the rest of the clothes Abernos had given her. She then glanced at Mias who had his head nestled against the arch of her back.
"Filthy bastard," she said in a rough voice. Her throat and chest still ached, but at least her fever was gone.
She cautiously pulled herself out of bed, not wanting to wake Mias. His head dropped o

Elle and Mias: Chapter 7
The sun approached the center of the sky as Mias and his steed came over the hill. The horse walked at any easy pace so as not to strain his rider. Mias was holding his left arm to his chest while mumbling an enchantment. He had underestimated his opponent this time, but thankfully suffered nothing worse than a dislocated shoulder. He'd already forced the joint back into place and was casting a healing spell to numb the pain and speed the recovery. Such injuries were annoying, just like the one who caused them.
He finished the incantation and slowly stretched his arm. There was no pain. He grinned in victory over the wound and grabbed both t

Elle and Mias: Chapter 14
The moment Mias and Elle entered their quaint little room in the local inn, the sorcerer's confident demeanor fell and he stumbled over to the bed and collapsed on top of it. He was breathing heavily and holding his shoulder. Pain surged through his entire body, the effects of the pain relief medicine he took earlier that evening were wearing off and he couldn't bear to maintain his smug composure.
Elle folded her arms across her chest and sighed. She had predicted he'd once again do something reckless to save his pride, but this was so plainly idiotic that Elle questioned his sanity. Still, it wouldn't sit well with her if she let him suffe
